Reiki is one of my favorite modalities, I’ve been practicing Reiki since 2006 and it has greatly changed my life for the better. I initially learned Reiki to help myself get over a very stressful time in my life and it helped me so much that I decided to learn more about it and go on to teach others how to do it. Teaching others about Reiki has been one of my greatest joys for well over a decade now. I love mentoring students and helping clients through physical and emotional stresses. I teach Reiki in 3 Levels. In each level you will receive an attunement to the Reiki energy. In Level I you learn a bit about the history of Reiki and how to do basic Reiki on yourself and others. In Level II, you will learn some of the sacred symbols, how to use them and how to do Distance Reiki. In Level III/Master you will learn the Master symbols and learn how to teach Reiki to others.

Menopause Got You Hot and Bothered? Here’s a few natural ways to help you chill out.

Ah, menopause. The time in a woman’s life where her hormones decide to take a vacation, leaving her with a one-way ticket to hot flash city, mood swing avenue, and stress boulevard. But don’t worry, peeps, there are natural ways to combat these pesky symptoms and make menopause a little more bearable.

Let’s start with stress. Because who needs any more stress in their life, Right? First things first, take a deep breath. And then take another one. And another one. See? Deep breathing can help calm your nerves and reduce those feelings of stress. You can also try some yoga, meditation, or my personal favorite, a long walk in nature. Whatever floats your boat and takes your mind off the stressors in your life.

Next up, anxiety. The feeling of being on edge all the time is not fun, but we’ve got your back. Chamomile tea is like a warm hug for your nerves. It has calming properties that can help reduce anxiety. You can also try some aromatherapy with lavender oil or practicing mindfulness. It’s all about finding what works for you and sticking with it.

And finally, the hormonal changes. Hot flashes, mood swings, and irritability, oh my! But fear not, my friends, there are natural ways to combat these symptoms. For example, did you know that eating more fruits, veggies, and whole grains can help reduce the frequency and severity of hot flashes? It’s true! You can also try some supplements like black cohosh or evening primrose oil, check with your doc first, though if you’re on any meds, just to make sure they don’t interact.

Lets Talk Water

Alright, let’s get into it. We’re talking about the importance of staying hydrated, folks. Yes, that means you should drink more water, and No, coffee and Diet Coke don’t count.

First of all, let’s start with the basics. Your body is mostly made up of water. So it makes sense that you need to keep replenishing that H2O in order to function properly. It’s like trying to drive a car with a nearly empty gas tank. You’re just not going to get very far.

But apparently, some people still struggle with this concept. Maybe they think water is too boring, or they just forget to drink it. Either way, it’s time to step up and take responsibility for your hydration levels. I’ll let you in a little secret . . . once you start adding water to your regular daily routine, your body will start craving it instead of all those sugary drinks you’re maybe used to.

Drinking enough water can help with things like digestion, circulation, and keeping your skin looking all plump and perky like a Kardashian. And if you’re into fitness, staying hydrated can actually improve your performance and help you recover from workouts faster. So why wouldn’t you want to drink more water?

Of course, I know some of you might be thinking, “But I hate the taste of water!” Guess what, buttercup? Water doesn’t have a taste. It’s literally just water. So maybe try adding some flavor with things like lemon or cucumber slices. Or you could just embrace the neutral taste and chug it like a champ.

Whatever your hydration strategy is, just make sure you’re getting enough water throughout the day. Your body (and your skin and your workouts) will thank you. And if you’re one of those people who still thinks drinking water is overrated, well, good luck with that. Meanwhile, I’ll be over here crushing my water bottle like a boss.

I lived most of my 60+ years being very shy, pushing through major anxiety (which I was pretty good at hiding), holding myself back and really not BEing my true self. I’ve been through some tuff stuff (like we all have) and I feel like it’s all brought me to this amazing place where I can help others. I’ve also had a lot of really great things happen in my life and have mostly tried to look for the silver lining or the positive in all things.

I’ve always been told that I’m a healer, uplifter and that I make people feel comfortable and safe, and I guess I’m finally starting to believe what I’ve been told. We spend so much of our lives trying to be who we think we should be, rather than just BEING who we really are and I’m here to help you find out who that is.

Happy New Year!

Anyone else feeling like “WTH happened in & to 2022”?! Seems we are all still a little bit in the twilight zone and still wondering where we belong and what the “H” are we supposed to be doing here. Right?!

2022 didn’t feel like a bad year or anything, I mean a lot of great things happened and there were a lot of fun times, but now when I look back and reflect, it all seems like a blur. It feels like everything was rushed or we were on a treadmill and life was just rushing by. Maybe we were all trying to get back the 2 years previous when our lives were really not in our control.

I thought I had it all figured out, a clear roadmap to an end goal but then December hit and it was all kind of a whirlwind. Now my world seems like it’s a bit fumbuttled. (If this isn’t a word, I guess I made it up, LOL!) Sometimes we think we are on a certain path and then we get some forks in our road and we question if what we were striving for is all worth it. For me, I’ve gotten some clarity on how I want to feel in my life, not sure how that will look or what will bring it into fruition but I know it will come and I know the push & grind world is not where it’s at (for me at least). Maybe it’s age, but experiences and being with people that make you laugh, smile and feel good is the absolute best place to be. Let’s stop wasting time on the things that aren’t doing that for us. Because it is well, just that, a waste of time.

Do you ever choose a WORD for the year? I’ve done it a few years (with the exception of last year, again WTH!) I have chosen CONSISTANCY for my word of 2023. I will show up for my dreams and goals and will consistently take the steps (even if they are baby steps) to move forward in what I want. I’d love to hear what your word is!
